Mr. Jens Richter

  Dipl.-Phys. Jens Richter

Jens Richter was a PhD student at the Integrated Photonics Laboratory (IPH) in the field of nonlinear optics and comb generation.
From 2006 to 2011 he studied physics at the RWTH Aachen University with focus on laser physics, nanooptics and solid state physics.
He received his Dipl.-Phys. degree from RWTH Aachen University in August 2011.
During his studies he worked at the Fraunhofer ILT in the department of laser welding (2007-2009) and on simulating photonic structures at the Chair of the Technology of Optical Systems (TOS) (2011). Beside his diploma thesis in the field of surface enhanced infrared absorption (SEIRA) he worked at the the physics department (Chair 1A) on nanophotonics (2010-2011). In December 2011 he joined the Chair of Integrated Photonics in the department for electrical engineering at the RWTH Aachen University.

His field of interest include:
– Integrated Silicon photonics
– High-Q Resonators
– Frequency Comb generation
– Simulation of photonic structures
– Nano- and micro fabrication
– Laser systems
– Surface enhanced infrared absorption (SEIRA)
