Dr. Sebastián Romero García

Dr. Sebastian Romero García received the M.Sc. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Malaga University, (Spain) in 2009 and the Dr. Ing. degree from RWTH Aachen University in 2016. From 2009 until end of 2011 he was working as Research Assistant at the Photonics & RF Research Lab (Malaga University, Spain) for the European Projects 100GET and MIRTHE where he was designing integrated photonic devices for high speed coherent receivers in InP technology. In Nov. 2011 he joined the Institute of Integrated Photonics (IPH) at RWTH Aachen where he has been working on the development of high performance components for Silicon Photonics Transceivers aimed at Datacom applications. In 2012 and 2013 his research activities were also focused on the design and characterization of Silicon Nitride photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for biosensors. Since Jan. 2016 Dr. Romero Garcia is responsible for the technical activities at IPH in the European H2020 project PIX4LIFE aiming CMOS compatible PICs for Life Science Applications in the visible wavelength range
